Nadia Yaron (B. 1978, São Paulo, Brazil). Sculptor. Yaron based in upstate New York where she sculpts with wood, stone and metal to reflect simplicity, impermanence and fragility. She often stacks individual sculptures to create a feeling of harmony accompanied by imbalance, an apt reminder of how delicate our world is. Her sculptural landscapes are an attempt to physically embody and make permanent the everchanging landscapes around us. Yaron is self-taught and develops her own language around her implements and mediums. Her tools of choice are chainsaws, grinders and hand-carving tools.

Recent exhibitions: ‘Totum,’ curated by Kyle DeWoody in Ojai and Los Angeles, CA, as well as group shows with Tiwa Select in Stone Ridge, NY, D-day Studio in Woodstock and ART+NATURE+HOME in Catskill, NY. Nadia is preparing for a solo show at Jeff Lincoln Art and Design in Southampton, NY, this summer and a solo show with Matter, NYC, in Fall 2022.

Nadia Yaron is an upstate-based self-taught artist who’s sculpted with wood, stone, and metal since 2017. Her work reflects simplicity, impermanence, and fragility. By stacking her individual sculptures, she creates a feeling of harmony alongside imbalance — an apt reminder of life’s delicacy. Her ‘portals’ suggest other ways of being and seeing; her ‘altars’ a bow to the sacred within our daily rituals.

Yaron’s weaving background instilled an appreciation of texture as reflected in her choice of wood and stone shaped with a chainsaw and hand-carving tools. Yaron’s implements and mediums reflect a female perspective. She honors nature’s beauty by embracing the perfection and inherent truth of natural materials, and her work expresses a belief in moving closer to spirit and ultimately finding peace.
